FOCUS-59097- ESS_Travel Reimbursement > End of Year Accounts Payable Setting

A new setting has been added to allow districts to post Travel Reimbursement invoices to the fiscal year in which travel occurred, rather than the fiscal year of the approval date. This is particularly useful for end-of-year scenarios where travel takes place in one fiscal year but is approved in the next.

New Setting

Navigate to ERP > Setup > Settings > Employee Self Service > Travel Reimbursement to find the new "Use Travel Date for Invoice" multi-select dropdown. The dropdown is populated with your configured Travel Types (e.g., In Country Travel, Out of Country Travel, Out of State Travel).

  • Tooltip: "Invoice Date will default to Travel Reimbursement Approval Date if not selected."

How It Works

  • When a Travel Type is selected in this setting, the invoice date for approved reimbursements of that type will be set to the first date of activity from the linked travel authorization (falling back to the departure date if no activity date is available).
  • When a Travel Type is not selected, the invoice date continues to default to the approval date (existing behavior).

Fiscal Year-Aware Budget Validation

All budget balance checks -- including the funding strip validation shown during approval -- now evaluate against the fiscal year of the invoice date rather than always using the current fiscal year. This ensures approvers see accurate budget availability for the year being charged.

  • The funding legend label has been updated from "No active budget for current fiscal year" to "No active budget for selected fiscal year."
  • The tooltip on funding strips with no budget now dynamically displays the applicable fiscal year (e.g., "This strip has no active budget for fiscal year 2025").

AP Batch Grouping

AP batches are now grouped by matching invoice date. An existing open batch will only be reused if all invoices within it share the same invoice date as the new invoice being added. If dates differ, a new batch is created. This prevents invoices from different fiscal years from being combined into the same batch.

See Setup > Settings > Employee Self Service > Travel Reimbursement for more information.

FOCUS-59029- Budgeting/General Ledger | Add Hyperlinks to the IA Activity Report

Budgeting/General Ledger - Clickable Hyperlinks on Internal Accounts Activity Report

The Internal Accounts Activity Report drilldown now features clickable hyperlinks in the Transaction, PO#, and Invoice Number columns. Previously, these columns displayed plain-text references, requiring users to manually search for the associated record elsewhere in the system.

  • Each value in the Transaction, PO#, and Invoice Number columns is now a clickable link that opens the corresponding source record in a new tab.
  • Supported record types include AP Requests, AP Invoices, POS Receipts, Check Run Summaries, Internal Purchase Requests/Orders, IA Manual Journals, and Internal Account Invoices.

Users can now navigate directly from the activity report to the underlying financial record in one click -- eliminating the need to search for it separately and significantly speeding up research and reconciliation workflows.

See Budgeting/General Ledger > Internal Accounts Activity Report > The Internal Accounts Activity Report for more information.

FOCUS-59012- Budgeting/General Ledger | Add Planned Budget Columns to % Update Drop Down

District Budget Planning - Planned Budget Now Available in % Update

When applying a percentage increase or decrease in a Budget Planning Scenario, users can now select "Planned Budget" as the base amount in the % Update dropdown. Previously, only prior-year budget and spent figures were available as base amount options.

This allows budget planners to apply percentage adjustments directly against the scenario's own planned budget column values, providing more flexibility when building and refining budget scenarios.

FOCUS-58960- Budgeting/General Ledger | Internal Accounts Activity Report Print All Drilldowns

Budgeting/General Ledger - "Print All Drilldowns" Button on Internal Accounts Activity Report

A new Print All Drilldowns button has been added to the Internal Accounts Activity Report. Users can now generate a single merged PDF containing the budget drilldown reports for every account in the current report results -- eliminating the need to open and print each drilldown individually.

  • A new Print All Drilldowns button is available on the Internal Accounts Activity Report.
  • Clicking the button generates a single PDF that merges all budget drilldown reports for every account in the current result set.
  • A loading indicator displays while the PDF is being generated.

Previously, users had to navigate into each account's drilldown and print them one at a time -- a time-consuming process for reports with many accounts. This feature significantly reduces the effort needed for bulk printing and end-of-period reporting.

See Budgeting/General Ledger > Internal Accounts Activity Report > Printing the Internal Accounts Activity Report for more information.

FOCUS-58943- Setup | Add Import Capability to District and Internal Fiscal Month Settings Screens.

Setup: Import Fiscal Months for District and Internal Accounts

ERP administrators can now import fiscal month records from a CSV file for District and Internal Accounts, reducing manual setup time for finance-heavy districts.

  • Added CSV import capability to ERP > Setup > Setting > District and Internal Months.
  • Allows IA imports to identify facilities by facility code, facility name, or facility ID.
  • Applies server-side permission checks for the appropriate fiscal month setup authorization.
  • Validates that the importing user is authorized for the target facility.

See Settings > Setup > District Fiscal Months and Internal Fiscal Months for more information.

FOCUS-58044- Fixed Assets Check Out | Enable Notification Sound

Fixed Assets Check Out - Notification Sound Enabled

The Fixed Assets Check Out screen now plays audible notification sounds on completion, matching the behavior already available during Check In. A success sound plays when an asset is checked out successfully, and an error sound plays if the checkout fails.

  • Audio elements were moved to the top-level DOM so they are accessible from both the Check Out and Check In tabs without interference from tab switching.
  • Browser autoplay policies still apply -- the user must interact with the page (e.g., click or scan) at least once before sounds will play (standard Chrome/Safari behavior).

No additional configuration is required. The notification sounds are enabled automatically.

See Fixed Assets > Check Out > Check Out an Asset to a Student and Checking In an Asset for more information.

FOCUS-57848- Budgeting/General Ledger | Remove Unreconcile Checkbox from Reconciled Checks in Bank Reconciliation

Bank Reconciliation - Unreconcile Checkbox Removed from Reconciled Checks

The Unreconcile checkbox has been removed from the Reconciled Checks tab in Bank Reconciliation. This prevents Focus-matched checks from being accidentally unreconciled after reconciliation.

  • The Unreconcile column, checkboxes, and associated Save button are no longer displayed on the Reconciled Checks table -- for both finalized and non-finalized bank reconciliations.
  • The Reconciled Credits/Debits tab and Check Errors tab are not affected -- unreconcile functionality remains available there as before.

No additional configuration is required.

FOCUS-57835- Balance Sheet Improvements

Balance Sheet Improvements

Improved the sorting and display order of the Balance Sheet report for clearer, more consistent presentation.

  • Major sections now display in a standardized order: Assets, Liabilities, and Fund Balance.
  • Subcategories within each section are sorted alphabetically by Title.
  • Unassigned Fund Balance is always displayed as the last row in the Fund Balance section, ensuring it doesn't appear out of place among named fund balance entries.

See Budgeting/General Ledger > Balance Sheet > Balance Sheet for more information.

FOCUS-57250- Transportation | Add Destination & Driver Name Columns to Bus Request History

Transportation: Final Destination & Driver Columns Added to Field Trip Request History

Two new columns -- Final Destination and Driver(s) -- have been added to the Field Trip Request History datatable (ERP > Transportation > Request History). The columns appear between the existing Requesting Facility and # of Students columns and support the same sorting and display functionality as other columns on the page..

See Transportation > Bus Requests > Bus Request History, Transportation > Internal Bus Requests > Bus Request History, and Transportation > Outside Bus Requests > Bus Request History for more information.

FOCUS-57219- Fixed Assets | Ensure Import Assets Update Screen Supports Updating Barcodes

Fixed Asset Import Enhancement

This system enhancement to ERP>Fixed Assets>Manage Assets>Import Assets adds the ability to bulk-update existing fixed assets by serial number instead of only by barcode during CSV import.

  • A "Match by" dropdown with two options: Barcode (default) or Serial Number
  • Barcode is now an updatable field, so users can bulk-assign barcodes to assets matched by serial number
  • Duplicate serial number detection: rows where the serial matches multiple assets are flagged red with a "Multiple assets match" message so users can remove them before submitting
  • The field chosen as the match key is automatically excluded from the "fields to update" list

The key use case: customers can now import a CSV to attach barcodes to assets that were previously tracked only by serial number.

See Fixed Assets > Manage Assets > Updating Imported Assets for more information.

FOCUS-58387- ESS|Travel Authorization Improvements

Several enhancements have been made to the Travel Authorization request workflow:

  • Return to Originator - When an approver returns a travel authorization to the requestor, the approver's name is now displayed and the return reason is added as a comment for clear audit tracking.
  • Yes/No Dropdowns - "Are there travel costs associated with this trip?" and "Is this for Professional Development?" now use Yes/No dropdown menus instead of checkboxes for a more consistent user experience.
  • Travel Cost Line Validation - If a travel cost category (e.g., Hotel, Rental Car, Airfare) is marked "Yes" but no corresponding line item is added, a validation error will now prevent submission until the required information is entered.
  • Allowable Date Range Validation (New Setting) - A configurable number-of-days setting (Setup > Settings > Employee Self Service) that validates expense dates against the travel dates. If the setting is left blank, no date validation occurs.
  • Use Job Allocation for Funding (New Option) - A new column on Travel Funding Sources allows funding to default from the employee's job allocation when the account strip is left blank. Supports Fund and Project masking for scenarios like Title I funding.
  • Require File Upload (New Setting) - When enabled, requestors must attach a file before submitting a travel authorization or an error is displayed.
  • Require File Upload for Internal (New Setting) - A separate setting to independently require file uploads for internal travel authorizations.

See Setup > Settings > Employee Self Service > Travel Authorization for more information.

FOCUS-58953- Payroll Rollover (Enhancement) > Primary Position Duplicate Prevention

Payroll Rollover - Primary Position Duplicate Prevention

Payroll > Rollover > Staff Positions

Issue: When rolling over staff positions to a new fiscal year, if a primary position already existed in the new year, the rollover could create a duplicate primary position. The UI would only display one primary position, but the underlying data contained two, which could lead to reporting issues.

Resolution: The rollover process now checks for existing primary positions in the target fiscal year before assigning primary status. If a staff member already has a primary position in the new year, any additional rolled positions are automatically downgraded to non-primary. This check also accounts for multiple positions processed within the same rollover batch, ensuring only the first is marked as primary.

FOCUS-58952- Payroll Rollover | Enhanced "Roll Weeks"

Payroll Rollover: Enhanced "Roll Weeks" Flexibility for Terminated Positions

We have enhanced the Payroll Rollover process to provide districts with a simpler way to roll over all terminated positions under a specific Separation Reason, without being restricted by a specific timeframe.

  • The Enhancement: The "Roll Weeks" field on Separation Reason codes now supports an unrestricted rollover option. By leaving the "Roll Weeks" field blank (null), the system will now automatically interpret this as an instruction to roll all matching terminated positions, regardless of how long ago the employee's job was terminated.
  • How it Helps: Previously, the system required a specific numerical value to be entered in the "Roll Weeks" field to process these jobs. This update removes that restriction, allowing districts to easily carry forward all historical terminated positions under a given separation code in one clean step.

See Government Codes > Seperation Reasons for more information.

FOCUS-57495- Communication Compose Interface Redesign

Redesigns the Communication interface to provide a cleaner, more streamlined compose experience. Communication settings such as Secure Email, Priority, Add Log Record, Copy Self, Send as District, Send as School, and Allow Replies have been moved into a collapsible Compose Settings side panel. Selected options are visually highlighted, allowing users to quickly identify active communication settings while maximizing the space available for composing messages.

The Communication navigation menu has also been updated with improved spacing and a collapsible layout that matches the main Focus navigation. When collapsed, notification badges display unread counts for items such as Inbox, Polls, and Sign Ups, providing quick visibility into pending activity.

For smaller screen sizes, the interface automatically reverts to the traditional horizontal layout, preserving the existing workflow and ensuring an optimized experience across different display sizes.

See Communication (Admin) > Communication Navigation, Communication (Teachers) > Communication Navigation, and Communication (Parents/Students) for more details.

Desktop

FOCUS-58818- Communication: Move New Recipient Options

Enhances the Communication compose screen by relocating additional recipient options into the Compose Settings panel. The Include Excluded Schools and Exclude Second School Enrollments options have been moved from the top of the compose page into the collapsible Compose Settings menu.

See Communication (Admin) > Communication Navigation, Communication (Teachers) > Communication Navigation, and Communication (Parents/Students) for more details.

FOCUS-56902- Focus Transfer Support for Florida CTE Sites

Enhances Focus Transfer for Florida districts by allowing student transfers between a district's K-12 site and its corresponding Focus CTE site.

When Focus Transfer is enabled on both sites, CTE users can request and import student records directly from the district's K-12 site using the existing Focus Transfer workflow. To support this process, K-12 enrollment records now include a -CTE option in the Transfer To list, allowing staff to designate the district's CTE site as the transfer destination.

The -CTE transfer option is displayed only for districts that have a corresponding Focus CTE site. Districts without a paired CTE site, or those operating K-12 and CTE on the same site, continue to use the existing transfer options with no changes.

See Focus Transfers > Transferring Student Data from Your School to the District's CTE School for more information.

FOCUS-58816- Imports: Archive After Success in Scheduled Jobs

Enhances the Imports module by adding an Archive After Processing option for imports using Local Server files.

When enabled, successfully processed import files are automatically moved to an archived folder and removed from the list of available import files, helping keep import directories organized and preventing files from being imported multiple times. Files that fail validation or encounter processing errors are not archived, allowing them to be corrected and reprocessed.

The new archive option is available when configuring Import Files and Create Table from File jobs using local file sources and can also be managed from Scheduled Jobs. Archived import files are automatically retained separately from active import files, simplifying ongoing file management.

See Imports > Import Tools > Import Files and Create Table from File, and Imports > Settings > Scheduled Jobs for more information.

FOCUS-54882- Communication: Announcement Comments Show in Inbox

Enhances Communication Announcements by bringing comment-enabled announcements into the Inbox, creating a more integrated conversation experience. Announcements with Allow Comments enabled now appear as threaded conversations in users' Inboxes, allowing recipients to read and reply directly from either the Portal announcement or the Inbox. Replies remain synchronized between both locations, ensuring discussions stay consistent regardless of where users participate. Announcements without comments enabled continue to behave as informational posts and do not appear in the Inbox.

Additional improvements include support for multiple replies per user, individual announcement archiving, continued comment moderation, and notification updates that respect existing communication preferences. During an active Safety Management alarm event, announcement commenting is automatically disabled to prevent new discussion activity. When an announcement is deleted or a user loses access to the associated group, the related conversation is automatically removed from the user's Inbox.

See Communication (Admin) > Reviewing and Responding to Comments in Your Inbox, Communication (Teacher) > Reviewing and Responding to Comments in Your Inbox, and Communication (Parents/Students) > Reviewing and Responding to Comments in Your Inbox  for  more information.

FOCUS-59112- Course Catalog: Credits Now Always Display 2 Decimal Places

Improves the Course Catalog by displaying credit values with a consistent two-decimal format.

The Credits per Course History Term and Total Credits columns now always display two decimal places, providing a consistent appearance across all courses and making credit values easier to compare.

Course Catalog

FOCUS-59082- Student Requests: Available Seats Now Incorporates Max Seats System Preference

Improves the Student Requests page by making Available Seats reflect room capacity when Limit Seat Count By Max Seats in Room is enabled.

When this scheduling preference is active, available seats are now calculated using the room's maximum capacity across sections that share the same room, period, and overlapping marking periods. This provides a more accurate view of scheduling availability and prevents sections from appearing to have available seats when the shared room has already reached its capacity. Existing section-based seat calculations remain unchanged when the preference is not enabled.

See Student Requests for more information.

FOCUS-59071- Mass Requests: Mass Requests UI Change

Improves the Mass Requests interface by repositioning the request option checkboxes for a more streamlined workflow.

The request option checkboxes on both the Add and Replace tabs have been moved to the left of the Submit Requests button, providing a more intuitive layout while preserving their existing functionality and selected values during request submission.

See Mass Requests for more information.

Mass Requests

FOCUS-59044- Parent Absence Request Improvements

Enhances Parent Absence Requests by allowing districts to require comments for specific attendance reasons and improving the submission experience for partial-day attendance.

Administrators can now configure individual attendance reasons to require a parent comment before an absence request can be submitted. When a required reason is selected, the comment field is marked as required and parents receive a validation message if no comment is entered.

The update also improves the handling of absence requests for days when a student has already been marked present for part of the day. Instead of preventing submission, parents are informed that attendance has already been recorded and are given the option to continue submitting the request if they believe the attendance record is incorrect.

See Attendance Setup > Reasons tab and Submit New Absence Request (Parents) for more information.

FOCUS-59019- Grading Scales & Comments: Adds Tooltip Column

Enhances Report Card Comments by adding a new Tooltip field under Grades > Setup > Grading Scales & Comments > Report Card Comments. Administrators can configure optional tooltip text for individual pull-down comments.

When teachers hover over a report card comment in the pull-down list during grade entry, the configured tooltip is displayed, providing additional context or guidance for selecting the appropriate comment. This helps standardize comment usage while giving teachers quick access to supplemental information without leaving the grading screen.

See Grading Scales & Comments > Adding a Report Card Comment, Post Final Grades (Teacher), and Post Standard Grades (Teacher) for more information.

Grading Scales & Comments

FOCUS-59014- Loading Report: Add Period Select Dropdown

Enhances the Percentage of Students Scheduled loading report by adding a Period selection option for combined schools.

Districts can now filter the report by school, grade level, and required scheduling periods, allowing the Percentage Scheduled calculations to reflect the appropriate scheduling requirements for each grade level within combination schools such as K-8, 4-8, and 6-12. This provides more accurate scheduling metrics for schools that use different required periods across grade levels.

See Loading Reports > Viewing the Percentage of Students Scheduled Report for more information.

Loading Reports

FOCUS-58998- System Preferences: Hide Lunch from Schedules Changed to a DateTime Preference

Enhances the Hide Lunch from Schedules system preference by replacing the previous on/off setting with a date and time option.

Administrators can now specify the exact date and time until which lunch periods should be hidden from student schedules. Once the configured date and time has passed, lunch periods automatically become visible again without requiring additional configuration. Existing settings are automatically converted during upgrade, preserving previous behavior.

See System Preferences > Scheduling and Lunches for more information.

System Preferences

FOCUS-58995- Graduation Req. Report: Adds Course 1500990 ("Physical Education Transfer") to PE Grad. Req. (Florida)

Updates the internal Florida DOE course standards to recognize course 1500990 as a Physical Education (PE) transfer course.

Students who receive credit for course 1500990 will now have the course applied toward their Physical Education graduation requirement, allowing it to satisfy the required PE credit in accordance with Florida DOE standards.

FOCUS-58988- Community Mobile App: Next Year Schedule Expand Marking Periods

Enhances the Community Mobile App by expanding support for viewing next-year schedules across multiple marking periods. The app now displays all upcoming marking periods in which a student is scheduled, rather than showing only the first available marking period. Future schedules are organized by marking period, with only those containing scheduled courses displayed.

See Using the Mobile App for Administrators and Using the Mobile App for Parents/Students for more information.

sandbox.focusschoolsoftware.c…locale=EN&color_scheme=light

FOCUS-58936- Next Year Schedule Requests Grade Visibility

Enhances Next Year Schedule Requests by displaying students' current academic performance directly within the request screen.

The request table now includes quarter grade columns that display posted final grades when available or the student's current Gradebook grade for active marking periods. This gives teachers additional context when making course recommendations for the upcoming school year.

The update also adds Mass Update and Record Count options, making it easier to manage and update multiple schedule requests at once. Mass updates continue to respect course eligibility requirements, updating only students who qualify for the selected course.

See Next-Year Schedule Requests (Teacher Programs) (Admin) and Next-Year Schedule Requests (Teacher) for more information.

FOCUS-58900- Run Query: Adds REFRESH Profile Permissions

Enhances Run Query by adding a new REFRESH profile permission for executing REFRESH MATERIALIZED VIEW statements.

Administrators can now grant REFRESH permissions independently of other Run Query permissions, allowing users to refresh materialized views without providing broader SQL access. Users without the REFRESH permission are prevented from executing REFRESH MATERIALIZED VIEW commands, providing more granular control over Run Query capabilities.

See Users > Profiles > Permissions Explained > Menu > Admin > Setup and Setup > New Run Query for more information.

FOCUS-58882- Setup > Fields: Add Marking Period Filter to Report Card Grade Field Terms

Enhances Report Card Grade custom fields by adding a Marking Periods selection option to field configuration.

Administrators can now restrict Report Card Grade fields to specific marking periods in addition to the existing Terms setting. This allows fields to be displayed only for selected quarters, semesters, or progress periods, providing greater flexibility when configuring report card fields and supporting more targeted grading workflows. The new restriction applies consistently across supported Report Card Grade field types while preserving existing behavior for fields without a marking period restriction.

See Fields > Report Card Grade Fields Options for more information.

Fields

FOCUS-58877- Loading Report School Permissions

Improves the Percentage of Students Scheduled loading report by ensuring school results respect the user's Loading Reports permissions.

The report now displays only the schools the user is authorized to access through the profile that grants Loading Reports permission. This permission filtering is applied consistently throughout the report, including school selection, summary results, and drill-down views, ensuring users only see scheduling data for their permitted schools while district-level users continue to see all schools.

FOCUS-58870- API: Detect URLs in Gradebook Assignments and Create a Hyperlink

Enhances the Gradebook API by automatically converting URLs in assignment descriptions into clickable hyperlinks.

When assignments are created or updated through the API, any valid URLs included in the description are automatically formatted as hyperlinks in the Gradebook, making referenced resources easier for teachers and students to access. Existing hyperlinks are preserved, and assignment descriptions without URLs continue to display as entered.

FOCUS-58831- Add Contact Language Required Preference

Adds a new Require Primary Language on Contacts system preference, allowing districts to choose whether a preferred language is required for contact records.

The preference is enabled by default when Choose Primary Language on Contacts is in use, preserving existing behavior. Districts can disable the requirement at the district or school level, providing greater flexibility when collecting and managing contact information.

See System Preferences > Enrollment for more information.

System Preferences

FOCUS-58798- Communication - Improved Logging for Communication Queue Cron Job

Enhances the Communication Queue by adding more detailed processing information to help administrators troubleshoot message delivery and monitor queue performance.

The Communication Queue now records the batch identifier and the queue items processed during each send operation, making it easier to trace specific communications through the queue and identify messages associated with processing delays or errors. These enhancements improve visibility into queue activity while maintaining existing communication processing behavior.

FOCUS-58786- SSS Edit Rules: Add Student Fields to Criteria and Linked Date Value

Enhances SSS Edit Rules & Workflow by making Student Fields available alongside SSS Custom Fields when creating rules.

Administrators can now reference both Student Fields and SSS fields within Validation, Linked Fields, Alerts, Workflow Triggers, and other SSS rule types. This provides greater flexibility when building SSS workflows that respond to or update information across both student records and SSS custom screens.

FOCUS-58777- Student Groups: Allow Users to Remove Student Groups

Enhances Student Groups by allowing administrators to delete groups without first manually removing every student from the group. When a user deletes a student group, Focus now displays a confirmation message. Once confirmed, the group and all of its student memberships are removed in a single action.

See Student Groups > Editing Student Groups for more details.

FOCUS-58656- Students: New Log In As Linked User For Students in Hover-Over

Adds a new Log In as Linked User button to the selected student's hover card, allowing authorized users to quickly sign in as the student's linked parent account.

When selected, Focus automatically signs the user in as the linked parent with the highest priority. If no linked contacts have a priority assigned, the first linked user associated with the student is used. The feature respects existing permissions, so it is only available to users authorized to log in as linked users.

See Student Info (Admin) for more information.

Student Info

FOCUS-58552- Translations: New Find & Replace Feature

Enhances the Translations editor with a floating Find & Replace tool that allows administrators to quickly locate and update translation text across multiple records without leaving the page.

The new tool provides real-time search with match counts, highlighted results, and navigation between matches. Users can replace individual occurrences or all matches at once, limit searches to specific translation columns or languages, and use advanced search options such as case-sensitive, whole-word, and regular expression matching.

See Translations > Using Find & Replace for more information.

Translations

FOCUS-58429- Communication CR: Manual Translation Enhancement - Auto-Populate Translations on Add Language

Enhances the Communication module by automatically translating existing message content when additional languages are selected.

Previously, adding a language after composing a message cleared the entered text, requiring users to re-enter the message. Now, selecting a language updates the existing message with the translated content, allowing users to continue composing and translating messages without losing their work. This streamlines the translation workflow and makes multilingual communications easier to prepare.

FOCUS-58293- School Choice: New Hide Reason Setting for Portal Visibility Controls

Adds a new Hide option to School Choice Setup > Reasons & Additional Reasons, allowing districts to control whether individual School Choice records appear in the Parent and Student Portals under the Choice screen.

When a School Choice application record is assigned a Reason or Additional Reason marked Hide, that program is removed from the student's School Choice results. This setting affects the Choice screen only and does not impact the School Choice applications.

See School Choice Setup > Setting Up Reasons and Setting Up Additional Reasons for more information.

School Choice Setup

FOCUS-58157 - Mobile App | ERP Employee Self-Service Modules

The Mobile App now includes access to additional ERP Employee Self-Service modules. Employees with the appropriate profile permissions can access Employee Requests, Pay History, and W2 Employee Tax Forms directly from the Mobile App. These options appear as new menu icons within the app and load seamlessly without requiring a separate login prompt.

Setup: Administrators must enable the corresponding Employee Self Service permissions under ERP → Setup → Profiles for the applicable user profiles. Pay History and W2 access require the relevant view_ess_pay_stub and view_ess_tax_forms permissions. The ERP modules are only available to staff users — parent and student accounts are excluded.

See Using the Mobile App for Administrators, Using the Mobile App for Teachers, Employee Self Service > Employee Requests, View Pay History, Employee Tax Forms > W2 Forms, HR > View ESS > Employee Requests, View Paystubs and Pay History, and Print Tax Forms for more information.

FOCUS-58085- Student Schedule: Adds Period Start/End Time Column & Preference

Adds a new Display Start and End Times on Student Schedule system preference under Setup > System Preferences > Scheduling.

When enabled, the Student Schedule displays a new Start/End Time column showing the scheduled meeting times for each course. Times are determined using the applicable bell schedule for the current day, including support for bell schedule overrides and rotating schedules. When Enable Ending Period is also enabled, multi-period courses display the full meeting range using the start time of the first period and the end time of the last period.

See System Preferences > Scheduling and Student Schedule for more information.

System Preferences

FOCUS-57745- School Choice: New Siblings Verification Tools for School Choice Application

New application preferences are available in School Choice Setup > Customize Application to require entry of a sibling's name, birth date, and/or student ID. Districts can also enable validation for any of these fields, requiring the entered information to match an existing student record before the application can be submitted.

When validation is enabled and the entered sibling information cannot be matched to a student in the district, the application displays a validation message and prevents submission until the information is corrected. These controls provide districts with additional flexibility for implementing sibling preference and sibling verification requirements within the School Choice workflow.

See School Choice Setup > Setting Preferences for more information.

FOCUS-57541- Fields: Enrollment Fields in Advanced Reports and Student Summary

Enhances Student Enrollment Fields by expanding their availability throughout the system.

Custom enrollment fields can now be selected and reported on through Students > Advanced Reports, providing districts with additional reporting and filtering options based on enrollment-specific data.

A new Visible on Student Summary option has also been added to enrollment field configuration. When enabled, the field's value is displayed on the student's Summary page, providing quick access to important enrollment information without opening the enrollment record. The system automatically selects the most appropriate enrollment record to display based on the student's current school, school year, and enrollment status.

See Fields > Student Enrollment Fields Options, Student Summary (Admin), Student Summary (Teacher), and Child Summary / My Summary (Parent/Student) for more information.

FOCUS-59091- Add 'Only Allow Adding/Editing Contacts' Setting to Addresses & Contacts Group

Enhances the Addresses & Contacts block in the Application Editor by adding a new Only Allow Adding/Editing Contacts option.

When enabled, applicants can add and edit contact information for existing addresses, but cannot add new addresses or modify existing address details. This allows districts to collect updated contact information while preventing changes to address records during the application process. When the option is disabled, the existing address editing behavior remains unchanged.

See New Application Editor and Online Enrollments for Students for more information.

FOCUS-59061- My Preferences: Changes 'Opt Out of Status Label Communications' to 'Opt Out of Online Enrollments Emails'

Updates the user preference formerly named Opt Out of Status Label Communications to Opt Out of Online Enrollments Emails. This is a naming change only. The preference continues to control whether users receive email notifications related to Online Enrollments, while its underlying functionality and behavior remain unchanged.

See My Preferences (Admin), Preferences (Teacher), System Preferences, New Application Editor and Online Enrollments for Students, and New Application Editor and Online Enrollments for Users for more information.

My Preferences

FOCUS-58905- New Online Application Save & Continue Behavior Improvement

Improves the Save and Continue Later experience for New Online Applications by preserving a parent's place in the enrollment form. When parents save their progress and return later to continue a new student enrollment, the application now resumes on the page where they left off instead of restarting at the beginning.

FOCUS-58859- New Online Applications Validation Improvements

Improves validation in New Online Applications by preventing validation messages for required fields that are hidden by a parent or grandparent category.

When an edit rule hides an entire section of the application, any required fields within that hidden section are now excluded from validation automatically. This allows applicants to continue or submit their application without receiving validation errors for fields that are not visible.

FOCUS-58190- New Online Applications Returning Student Guided Address

Adds a new Guided Address block for Returning Student forms in the Application Editor, providing a guided workflow for updating household and contact information during re-enrollment.

See New Application Editor and Online Enrollments for Students for more information.

FOCUS-58801- IPEDS: Allows Students to List for Multiple Programs

Improves the IPEDS Completions report by correctly counting students who complete multiple CIP programs.

Students enrolled in more than one distinct CIP program are now reported once for each eligible program, ensuring each program completion is represented independently in the IPEDS Completions report. This provides more accurate reporting for students who complete multiple programs during the reporting period.

See Billing > IPEDS > Completions for more information.

FOCUS-58639- Postsecondary: Attended Hours Report for Co-Teachers

Enhances the Attended Hours Report by allowing co-teachers with Modify access to run the report for their assigned sections.

Co-teachers can now search, filter, and view attendance hours for sections where they have Modify permission, providing the same reporting access as the primary teacher for those sections. Sections where the co-teacher has Read Only access remain viewable in the section selector but do not return report results, while sections with no access are not displayed.
