FOCUS-54520 - Billing | 1098T Improvement

1098-T Reporting Accuracy: Outside Overage Checks

We have resolved a discrepancy between the 1098-T forms generated in the Admin side versus those generated in the Student Portal. Previously, the Student Portal versions were missing Outside Overage Checks, which could lead to confusion and reporting errors.

  • Fix: Student-generated 1098-Ts now correctly include outside overage checks.
  • Consistency: Data in the Student Portal now perfectly matches the records generated by administrators, ensuring "one source of truth" for tax reporting.

FOCUS-54516- Budgeting/General Ledger | Manual Journal Approval Flow Improvement

Manual Journal Approvals

We have resolved an issue within the Budgeting / General Ledger module where canceling a Manual Journal failed to clear its associated approval flow. This resulted in "pending" approval tasks remaining active for journals that were no longer moving forward.

  • Automatic Cleanup: Canceling a Manual Journal now correctly resets and clears all pending approval records.
  • Approver Logic: This fix ensures that the approval state is cleared even in instances where inactive users were part of the original approval chain.
  • Data Integrity: Prevents "stale" approval notifications from appearing on user dashboards.

FOCUS-54125 - Accounts Payable and Payroll | Positive Pay Bank Addition

Truist Bank Support for Positive Pay

We have expanded the bank compatibility options within the Positive Pay Source Module. This enhancement adds Truist as a selectable bank option for both Accounts Payable and Payroll exports, ensuring proper file formatting for automated fraud prevention.

You can now select Truist from the bank dropdown menus in your system settings. This ensures that the Positive Pay files generated by the ERP meet Truist's specific formatting requirements.

  • Setup: ERP → Setup → Settings → Miscellaneous
  • Configuration: Positive Pay Source Module → Accounts Payable & Payroll drop downs

FOCUS-54603- Leave History Including Future Jobs hours

Fix: Leave Calculation Accuracy

The Leave History screen has been updated to ignore future-starting jobs when determining an employee's daily work hours. Previously, future job hours were being added to current hours, doubling the daily rate (e.g., to 15 hours/day) and skewing leave balance calculations. The system now accurately reflects only currently active positions for all leave metrics.

FOCUS-54580- Allow Wage Change Retro On Manual Runs

Enhancement: Manual Run Access for Wage Change Retro

The Wage Change Retro page is no longer restricted to regular payroll runs. Users can now process retroactive wage adjustments while a Manual Run is selected in the Run Control dropdown. This change provides consistency with the Supplement Retro process and allows for more flexible off-cycle pay adjustments.

FOCUS-54461- Add application flag for Users

This system improvement to ERP>Human Resources>Online Applications>Unprocessed (tab) ensures the general application is the only form that shows on the unprocessed tab for applicants. If the applicant has other forms i.e. instructional addendum they are visible on the current applicant tab.

FOCUS-54413 - SDPE | Show facility in misc. comp summary

Enhancement: View-Only Facility Field in SDPE for Assign Time & Attendance

A Facility column has been added to the Misc Comp Summary in SDPE. This view-only field provides additional context for users during the payroll entry process but does not transmit to the Run Payroll module.

See School/Department Payroll Entry > Assigning Time & Attendance for more details.

FOCUS-54400- Employee Fields | Staff Experience Tab > Add Comments and Verification Documentation

Added comments and upload to HR > Employee > "Staff Experience" tab.

ERP > Users > Profiles > Permission Type = Employee Fields

Enable Comment and Verification Documentation

You are now able to add/remove comments and verification experience.

FOCUS-54331- Applicant Tracking | Applicant Account Improvement

Applicant Tracking Account Security

We have implemented a system improvement to the Applicant Tracking module and public Jobs Page to ensure clear separation between parent accounts and job applications.

To maintain data integrity and ensure proper background screening workflows, users are now prevented from applying for positions using an existing Parent Account.

  • Logic Update: The system now recognizes active Parent Account credentials and prompts the user to create or use a dedicated Applicant Account.
  • Benefit: This prevents the overlapping of student/family data with employee/applicant records within the ERP.

FOCUS-53026- ERP | ESS - Display timestamp for Opt Out of Paper W2

Enhancement: W-2 Opt-Out Audit Trail

A new timestamp has been added next to the Opt Out of Paper W2 field, tracking when employees change their preference. Access to this information is controlled by a new profile permission: Show "opt out of paper w2 - last updated".

FOCUS-52942- Legacy Re-Enrollment Resolve Updating Notes on Contact

This update improves how contact note changes are handled in legacy re-enrollment forms. Updates to contact notes now process cleanly without triggering an error and are recorded as a single, consolidated change instead of multiple entries.

FOCUS-50389- T&A | add start/stop break buttons to portal

Enhancement: Real-Time Break Punching

Start and stop break punches is now available on the portal. This allows employees to clock in and out specifically for break periods using the portal, providing more accurate time logs and better visibility into daily work patterns. In addition, option to 'Apply grace period rounding to break start/end' is now available in Time & Attendance setup.

See Time & Attendance Setup > Settings and ERP Portal > Punch In/Out for additional information.

FOCUS-48307- Applicant Tracking | Settings Enhancement

Applicant Tracking Visibility Settings

We have introduced a new system enhancement to Applicant Tracking that allows districts to control the default visibility of job postings. This update includes a global configuration setting and granular profile permissions to streamline how staff interact with finalized postings.

  • Global Default: A new setting, "Default Show All postings in Applicant Tracking," is now available in ERP > Setup > Settings > Miscellaneous > Misc section.
  • Profile Permissions: New permissions in ERP > Setup > Profiles > Human Resources allow administrators to define which user roles can view finalized job postings.
  • "Show All" Toggle: Based on these settings, a "Show All" checkbox is now available on both the Postings and Applicants screens to quickly filter between active and finalized records.

FOCUS-54619- Kiosk: Check In Only Reroute Not Working

Kiosk behavior has been updated to consistently honor Check In Only and Check Out Only modes. When a kiosk is launched in one of these restricted modes, completing an action or canceling no longer resets the kiosk back to the default flow.

FOCUS-54602- Teacher Portal: Resolves Select a Student Showing Inactive Scheduled Students

The student selector in the Teacher Portal has been refined to better reflect active rosters. Students who are no longer scheduled in any of a teacher's sections no longer appear in the default Select a Student list, reducing confusion when navigating student data. Previously scheduled students remain accessible through the Inactive Students filter when needed.

FOCUS-54577- Custom Field Logging Field Audit Improved

Updates to logging fields are now consistently recorded in the Audit Trail. When a logging field automatically creates a new row during save, the system now correctly captures and displays that change.

FOCUS-54560- Grade Verification Sheets: Small Print Option Not Responding

The small font option on Grade Verification Sheets now responds correctly when selected. The print settings have been updated so the chosen font size is honored during rendering, ensuring reports print with the intended formatting without being overridden by other print options.

FOCUS-54557- Teacher Portal: Name Pronunciation Field on Teacher Gradebook and Attendance Screens

Student name pronunciation details are now available to teachers directly within Attendance and Gradebook workflows. When a pronunciation is recorded, teachers can play audio pronunciations or view written pronunciations from the student summary without leaving their daily screens. Permissions continue to control visibility and editing, and students without recorded pronunciations are displayed without playback options, ensuring a clean and consistent experience.

See Take Attendance (Teachers) and Gradebook > Gradebook Navigation for more details.

FOCUS-54556- Published Reports: Remove Daily and Period Attendance Dates

This update improves the accuracy of saved and published reports by removing unintended Daily and Period Attendance date filters when no attendance-related criteria are selected. Attendance dates that were previously stored in reports due to legacy request handling are now ignored and cleaned up, ensuring reports only apply date filters when attendance conditions are explicitly included.

FOCUS-54546- Attendance Chart: Updating FTE Daily Attendance Fails

This update improves daily attendance processing for FTE periods on rotation schedules. The Attendance Chart now correctly recognizes rotation days when calculating and updating daily attendance based on the configured FTE period, ensuring daily codes populate as expected for students scheduled into rotation-based FTE sections.

FOCUS-54542- Mass Add Log Records - Student: By Group - Resolves Alert Icons Not Loading

This update improves the consistency of alert icon display within Mass Add Log Records when using the By Group option. Alert icons now remain visible after a logging field is selected.

FOCUS-54514- New Online Applications: New Translations Enhancement

A new Add Translations button is now available in the Application Editor for New Online Applications. This option automatically creates translation entries for form layout elements, including group titles, field labels, and layout text, making them immediately available in the Translations Editor. This streamlines multilingual setup and ensures new application content is ready for auto-translation without manual entry.

See New Application Editor and Online Enrollments for Students and New Application Editor and Online Applications for Users for more information.

FOCUS-54475- Communication: Update Absence Summary Fields to Exclude Non-Attendance Periods

The Absence Summary fields used within the Communication module have been updated to only include periods that are marked as Used for Attendance in Period Setup. Periods that do not take attendance are now excluded from generated absence summaries, ensuring that counts and details are accurate and consistent across messages, letters, templates, and printed communications.

FOCUS-54468- Print Absence Summary Timeframe Alignment

The Print Absence Summary now consistently uses the selected report timeframe when generating printed output. Printed totals correctly match the dates shown on the screen, even after navigating between searches or returning to the page.

FOCUS-54466- Courses & Sections: Parent & Child Section Naming Update

Linking parent and child sections through Courses and Sections no longer alters the parent section's name. Parent sections now retain their original titles when child sections are linked, preventing unintended renaming and preserving clarity in section management. This update applies going forward and does not change previously linked sections.

FOCUS-54452- School Choice: In-District Priority Calculation Improved

An update was made to refine how In-District priority is assigned during School Choice processing. Students will no longer receive In-District priority solely based on having an address listed in the address catalog when that address is not associated with any zoned schools. In these cases, students are now correctly treated as Out-of-District, ensuring priorities are applied more accurately and consistently based on actual zoning data.

FOCUS-54440- Print Absence Summary School Coverage Update

The Print Absence Summary has been updated to ensure all applicable schools and enrollment records are included in printed output. When printing, the system now captures all absence tables currently loaded on the page, including records from schools where the student was enrolled earlier in the same school year.

FOCUS-54368- Discipline: New Referrals Minor Infraction Sub-Permission

Discipline referral entry now includes a new profile-level permission that controls visibility of the Minor Infraction option. Administrators can determine which admin and teacher profiles can view and select the "Minor Infraction - No Administrative Action Needed" checkbox when adding or reviewing referrals. When enabled, the option appears as expected; when disabled, it is fully hidden from both the Add Referral and Referrals screens. The permission is automatically enabled for profiles with existing referral edit access when the Minor Infractions system preference is turned on, providing flexibility while preserving current workflows.

See Profiles > Permissions Explained for more information.

FOCUS-54352- Post Final Grades: Use Gradebook Grades Calculation Update for Double-Blocked

Final grade calculations for double-blocked courses have been improved when using the Use Gradebook Grades option. The system now correctly applies the configured averaging scheme when pulling gradebook data, ensuring semester grades reflect the intended weighted calculation rather than an incorrect default value.

FOCUS-54300- Student Search: New Enrollment/Scheduling Restriction Active Search Option

A new search widget has been added to Student Search, More Search Options to make it easier to locate students with active enrollment or scheduling restrictions. This new search option allows users to filter results to only students who have an active restriction record for the selected date range. A restriction is considered active if it starts on or before the search date and ends on or after the search date. This enhancement improves usability for large datasets by enabling targeted searches, particularly in Advanced Reports and other student search workflows, without requiring users to review full result sets.

See Searching for Students > Did You Know? for more information.

FOCUS-54250- Teacher Schedules Report: New Display User Alert Icons Option

The Teacher Schedules Report has been updated to display alert icons next to teacher names when applicable. This provides quick visual indicators based on configured User Alert Icon rules, with the option to toggle alert icons on or off from the report's Show menu, improving visibility while keeping the report flexible for different viewing needs.

See Teacher Schedules Report > Viewing the Teacher Schedules Report for more information.

FOCUS-54234- Gradelevel Zoning Validation Updated to Zoned Schools Table

Grade Level Based Zoning has been enhanced to validate student addresses using the Zoned School table on the student's address record. When an address is edited, the system evaluates zoning against the Address Catalog, displays applicable Grade Level Zoned Schools, determines school type based on the highest mapped grade, and enforces zoning rules with an override prompt when necessary. Address and grade changes now trigger automatic re-evaluation of zoning and rolling retention logic, and the Invalid Address Report reflects accurate results.

This update relies on consistent grade key formatting between Grade Level setup and the address_to_district table to ensure accurate zoning validation.

See System Preferences > Enrollment for more information.

FOCUS-54108- School Choice: New Built-in Priority Options (CES, CEP, & SCC)

This update adds several new built-in priorities to the School Choice module to improve how applicants are ranked based on enrollment status and special circumstances. The following priorities are now available for use in priority charts and lottery calculations: CES (Currently Enrolled Student), which applies when a student is currently enrolled in the same school they are applying to attend; CEP (Currently Enrolled Priority), which applies when a student's current school is flagged with a School Choice Override to encourage placement at an alternate school; SCC (Special Circumstances C), which applies when a verified special circumstance is indicated on the application; SCCID (Special Circumstances C - In District), which applies to verified special circumstance students residing within the district; and SCCOD (Special Circumstances C - Out of District), which applies to verified special circumstance students residing outside the district.

FOCUS-53072- Scheduling: Max Value Automatically Setting Total Seat Value

This update improves how section seat counts are managed when room capacity limits are enforced. When enabled, the system now clearly warns if a seat count exceeds the assigned room's capacity and automatically aligns the section's seat count to the room maximum. Changing a section's room will also update seats if the prior value exceeds the new room's capacity, while intentional seat reductions are preserved without warnings. Disabling the preference restores full manual control over section seat counts.

See System Preferences > Scheduling and Courses & Sections for more information.

FOCUS-52248- System Preference "Don't Run Edit Rules on Prior Year Enrollment Records" Logic Expanded to All Edit Rule Types

Improved the behavior of the system preference "Don't Run Edit Rules on Prior Year Enrollment Records (recommended)" so that it now applies to all Edit Rules--not just Validations. When this preference is enabled, Edit Rules are executed only for current-year and next-year enrollment records. Prior-year enrollment records are now fully excluded from Edit Rule execution. When the preference is unchecked, Focus continues to run Edit Rules on all years exactly as before.

FOCUS-54572- SSS: Resolve Progress Data with a Custom Period Title Not Visible

Progress monitoring data now displays correctly when custom progress period titles are used.

FOCUS-54351- SSS: Hide Behavior PMP Charts Interface Until PMP Records Added

The Behavior PMP chart interface is now displayed only when data is available. Charts are hidden until at least one Behavior PMP record has been added, preventing empty or non-responsive chart views.

See Behavior PMP for more information.

Behavior Progress Monitoring Plan

FOCUS-54347- SSS: PMP Data Collection Permission Enforcement

Access to PMP Data Collection now more accurately reflects user permissions. When a user has view-only access, the screen is presented in a read-only state with inputs disabled and save actions removed, preventing any confusion about edit capability.

FOCUS-54257- SSS Event Trigger Null Handling Update

This update improves how SSS event triggers process null parameters by trimming unintended whitespace before evaluation. Event triggers that set student fields to null will now execute correctly when the parameter is entered as null without leading spaces, preventing silent failures caused by extra spacing.

FOCUS-54024- SSS: Caseload & Services Clinical Notes PDF Access

This update enhances Caseload and Services by adding a Clinical Notes PDF button to the Service History tab when the Clinical Note option is enabled in SSS General settings. Staff can now quickly view and generate a formatted PDF of clinical notes directly from a service record, including service details, notes, provider information, and approval status. The PDF output supports longer notes across multiple pages and is consistently available to authorized users once services are submitted and approved, improving documentation access and usability.

See General and Caseload & Services for more information.

Caseload & Services

FOCUS-53438- SSS: Event System Setup - Add Pages & Import Button

This update improves the SSS Setup experience by adding pagination to all setup data tables, making large lists easier to navigate and manage. It also introduces CSV import functionality for Providers, Services, Hypotheses, Strategies, and Monitoring Tools, allowing districts to efficiently load and maintain setup data while enforcing validation and duplicate detection.

See Setup for more information.

FOCUS-51389- SSS: Improved PDF Imaging Progress Indicator when Imaging Multiple Events

The PDF imaging workflow in SSS has been refined to ensure progress indicators display correctly when imaging multiple events in sequence. Each imaging action now starts with a clean status state, preventing residual checkmarks or error indicators from a previously imaged event from appearing when a new imaging modal is opened.

FOCUS-54564- Update Alerts when Section Waitlist is Selected

Waitlist alerts have been updated to provide clearer detail when sections are used as the default waitlist option. When section-based waitlists are enabled, portal alerts are now broken down by section instead of grouping at the course level. If the system preference remains set to course-based waitlists, alerts continue to reference courses as before. This improvement makes waitlist notifications more precise and easier for users to understand.
