System Setup Requirements

Student Identifier: Have "PASecureID" as a valid option in Imports' Conversion Field settings for the student_id field.

Select Import Settings

1. Navigate to Imports in the Setup menu, then start the process by uploading your file.

2. While in the File Format step, reference the Preview section to make your selections.

3. If the uploaded data does not contain a header row, uncheck the box.

4. Click Next.

5. In the Select Tool step, click the Import File card to enter the import settings:

  • Select the Test History import tool option.
  • Select the desired Import Method.
  • In the Standardized Test pull-down, select the available Pennsylvania System of School Assessment (PSSA) option.
  • Select the Parse File check box and then select the corresponding file parser from the pull-down:
    • Pennsylvania System of School Assessment (PSSA) - Effective Spring 2025
  • In the Scores Layout pull-down, select the Standard option.
  • In the Conversion Fields section:
    • For the student_id conversion field, make sure that the PASecureID (custom_300000000) option is selected.
  • Click Continue.

Selecting the available Pennsylvania System of School Assessment file parser will transform the gradelevel, year and administration date data elements to identifiable system standards. It will also reference the file's PASecureID as the unique student identifier.

Map Fields and Validate

Once back in the Select Tool step:

  1. Click Next.
  2. In the Mapping Template step:
    • Choose an existing template, or
    • Manually map the available fields.
  3. Click the Validate button.
  4. Check the validation results and review errors, if any.
  5. To complete the process, click Import.

If the Standard score layout was chosen, all the fields will be mapped automatically.
