Select Import Settings
- Navigate to Imports in the Setup menu, then start the process by uploading your file.
- While in the File Format step, reference the Preview section to make your selections. When working with a fixed-width file format:
- Click the Field Positions button.
- In the Template pull-down, select the Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) - Student Results File Converter - Effective Fall 2024 option.
- Click Continue.
- If the uploaded data does not contain a header row, uncheck the box.
- Click Next.
- In the Select Tool step, click the Import File card to enter the import settings:
- Select the Test History import tool option.
- Select the desired Import Method.
- Select the appropriate SAT test from the Standardized Test pull-down.
- Select the Parse File check box and then select one of the following options from the pull-down:

Florida
- In the Scores Layout pull-down:
- When the selected parser is not Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) Suite of Assessments - Latest SAT Only (Comprehensive) - Effective Fall 2024, change the option to Standard.
- Click Continue.
Selecting the Comprehensive file parser will allow you to review and map all available score combinations reported by the provider. This option is most suitable when needing to include scores that are not listed in the state requirements.
Run Student Match
Once back in the Select Tool step:
- Click Student Match:
- Map the required fields: First Name, Last Name, Birth Date and *Birth Date format. Mapping the School is optional.
- Click Run.
- When applicable, manually search and assign Student IDs to all remaining unmatched student records and click Continue.
The default SAT file parsers created by Focus outputs the Birth Date in the original YYYY-MM-DD format, as reported by the provider.
Map Fields and Validate
Once back in the Select Tool step:
- Click Next.
- In the Mapping Template step:
- Choose an existing template, or
- Manually map the available fields.
- Click the Validate button.
- Check the validation results and review errors, if any.
- To complete the process, click Import.
If the Standard score layout was chosen, all the fields will be mapped automatically.
