The information provided in this document can be referenced to import the Iowa Assessments (IOWA) test scores.

Number Attempted (NA), Completion Criteria (CC), Raw Score (RS), Standard Score (SS),

Grade Equivalent (GE), National Percentile Rank (NPR), National Curve

Equivalent (NCE), National Stanine (NS), Predicted Standard Score (PSS), Predicted

Grade Equivalent (PGE), and Predicted National Percentile Rank (PNPR).

Select Import Settings

  1. Navigate to Imports in the Setup menu, then start the process by uploading your file.
  2. While in the File Format step, reference the Preview section to make your selections. When working with a fixed-width file format:
    • Click the Field Positions button.
    • In the Template pull-down select the Iowa Assessments - Student Results File Converter - Effective Fall 2016 option.
    • Click Continue.
  3. If the uploaded data does not contain a header row, uncheck the box.
  4. Click Next.
  5. In the Select Tool step click the Import File card to enter the import settings:
    • Select the Test History import tool option
    • Select the desired Import Method.
    • Select the appropriate IOWA test from the Standardized Test pull-down, or leave blank.
    • Select the Parse File check box and then select one of the following options from the pull-down:
      • All States: Iowa Assessments (IOWA) - Comprehensive
    • In the Scores Layout pull-down will be automatically set to the appropriate option based on your previous selections, with Test Part & Score Types are combined into one or more columns as the default option.
    • Click Continue.

Selecting the Comprehensive file parser will allow you to review and map all available score combinations reported by the provider. It transforms the gradelevel to a two-character code and converts the administration date to a readable system format. It also adds a column for school year, which is derived from the provided administration date.

Map Fields and Validate

Once back in the Select Tool step:

  1. Click Next.
  2. In the Mapping Template step:
    • Choose an existing template, or
    • Manually map the available fields.
  3. Click the Validate button.
  4. Check the validation results and review errors, if any.
  5. To complete the process, click Import.
