Florida Statewide Assessments (FSA)

The information provided in this document can be referenced to import the Florida Assessment of Student Thinking (FST), and Benchmarks for Excellent Student Thinking (B.E.S.T.) Standards (BST) Test Results.

FAST: Reading, Math (Grades 03 through HS) and their respective sub-skill domains

B.E.S.T.: Algebra 1, Geometry and their respective sub-skill domains

Supported Score Types

FAST: Scale Score, Achievement Level, Percentile Rank, Pass/Fail, Alternate Passing

Score (APS)

B.E.S.T.: Scale Score, Achievement Level, Pass/Fail, Alternate Passing Score (APS)

Select Import Settings

  1. Navigate to Imports in the Setup menu, then start the process by uploading your file.
  2. While in the File Format step, reference the Preview section to make your selections.
  3. If the uploaded data does not contain a header row, uncheck the box.
  4. Click Next.
  5. In the Select Tool step click the Import File card to enter the import settings:
    • Select the Test History import tool option.
    • Select the desired Import Method.
    • Leave the Standardized Test pull-down blank.
    • Select the Parse File check box and then select the corresponding file parser from the pull-down:
      • Florida Assessment of Student Thinking (FST) - Effective Fall 2024
      • Florida Assessment of Student Thinking (FST) Provisional - Effective Fall 2024
      • Benchmarks for Excellent Student Thinking (B.E.S.T.) Standards (BST) - Effective Fall 2024
      • Benchmarks for Excellent Student Thinking (B.E.S.T.) Standards (BST) Provisional - Effective Fall 2024
    • In the Scores Layout pull-down change the option to Standard.
    • In the Conversion Fields section:
      • For the student_id conversion field, make sure that the Florida Education Identifier (custom_200000224) option is selected, regardless of which test is being imported.
    • Click Continue.

Map Fileds and Validate

Once back in the Select Tool step:

  1. Click Next.
  2. In the Mapping Template step:
    • Choose an existing template, or
    • Manually map the available fields.
  3. Click the Validate button.
  4. Check the validation results and review errors, if any.
  5. To complete the process, click Import.

If the Standard score layout was chosen, all the fields will be mapped automatically
