The Ohio Shots Integration feature imports immunizations from ImpactSIIS to students immunization records. Note: This integration allows immunizations to be imported for students with a future active enrollment record in the school district, as well as currently enrolled students.

If the Import Immunization Status and Expiration Date Vaccine Certification along with IIS Immunization Records setting is enabled via Setup > System Preferences > School Preferences/Default School Preferences > General tab, you can import individual shot records as well as the student’s immunization status when the Import from OHIIS button is clicked.
The Ohio Shots Integration feature imports immunizations from ImpactSIIS. Existing records in the Immunization table are not removed.
The feature sends the following patient (student) information to ImpactSIIS:
- Social Security Number (or other available student identifier, such as a Medical Record Number/State Immunization Identifier, if configured)
- Name (First, Middle, Last)
- Date of Birth
- Gender
- Primary Address
A students Social Security Number (SSN) returns an exact match. If an SSN is not provided, the system attempts to match the student using the student's Name, Date of Birth, Gender, and/or Address. If a high-confidence match is found, immunizations are automatically imported without additional input. If a match is not high-confidence, the user must select the correct student from the list of possible matches. After a student is selected, the system resends the student information to ImpactSIIS and imports the immunizations. If no student is found, no matches are returned.
Click the Import from OHIIS button to import Immunizations records into the Immunizations table.
Once complete, a tooltip will display when hovering over the Import from OHIIS button indicating if the process was successful or if there were errors.
Using this feature requires setup and configuration; contact the Focus Help Desk for assistance. Before Focus can configure the Import from OHIIS feature, the district head nurse must contact the Ohio Department of Health to obtain the required login credentials. These credentials are then provided to Focus to complete the configuration.
The system field called "State Immunization Identifier" is associated with the Immunization Student Category, if one exists. When utilized, this unique ID can serve as an alternative to the student's social security number for uniquely identifying students when importing immunization records with OHIIS.
