The Truancy and Chronic Absenteeism Summary is used to review students considered at risk due to absences.
In Attendance > Attendance Setup > Codes tab, the "Include in Truancy Count" and "Include in Chronic Absenteeism Count" columns are used to mark attendance codes that should be considered for truancy and chronic absenteeism calculations.
1. In the Ohio Reports menu, click Truancy and Chronic Absenteeism Summary.
2. Select the Start Date of the report.
3. Select the End Date of the report.
4. Select the specific Schools to include in the report. Leave blank to run the report for the school selected at the top-right.
5. Select the Gradelevels to include in the report. Leave blank to generate the report for all grade levels.
6. Select the Students to include in the report. Leave blank to generate the report for all students.
7. Select the Zip Codes to include in the report. Leave blank to generate the report for all zip codes.
8. Select the Export Type. Select Excel to download the file to your computer. Select HTML to view the report in Focus.
9. Select All Schools to generate the report for all schools in the district. Leave unselected to generate the report for the school you are currently viewing.
10. Select Include Inactive to include inactive students on the report.
11. Adjust each of the absence hour thresholds as desired. The default values that are populated are set in Ohio Reports > Ohio Reports Setup > District Options. The maximums defined by HB410 are indicated in parentheses.
12. Click Generate.
If Excel was selected as the Export Type, the file will download to your computer for review when the report finishes generating. If HTML was selected as the Export Type, the report is displayed in a table format in Focus, in a pop-up window.
13. When viewing the report in the HTML format, scroll to the bottom of the window to view the report key and thresholds.
14. Click a Name link to open the student's Absence Summary in a new tab.
15. Click a link in the HB410 Actions (FT) column to view the Truancy Events field in Student Info for the student in a new tab.
16. Click the X to close the pop-up window, when finished.
